Every Family Deserves to be Together at Christmas

As we gather with our families this holiday season, let us remember those who face hardship even in the midst of Christmas cheer—people like Kyle, a US Army Veteran who bravely served our country and who, after his service, encountered a new kind of battle he hadn’t been prepared for.

Kyle’s journey was supposed to be one of new beginnings, but the transition from soldier to civilian was far more challenging than he’d imagined. The Army instilled in him discipline, honor, and the value of camaraderie, but none of this could fully prepare him for the struggles he would face after his service ended. Through a painful series of events, Kyle was divorced, battled depression, and experienced financial instability that eventually left him and his two young children without a home; traumatized further through homelessness.

For months, Kyle and his two children lived in his car, trying to make the best of each day. He faced this new reality with courage, yet the hopelessness he felt was foreign to him. Adversity in combat was one thing; homelessness was another kind of enemy altogether.

Then, thanks to the generosity of people like you, St. Vincent de Paul CARES was there to help.

Kyle states, “SVdP CARES gave us the immediate support, safety, and stability we desperately needed.”

SVdP CARES helped them find hope again through passionate and loving staff who helped restore a sense of dignity and gave Kyle and his children a chance at a new life. No longer traumatized by homelessness, today, Kyle and his family are housed, he is working full-time, rebuilding his life, holding on to hope, and creating a stable future for his children.

This Christmas, you are invited to partner with SVdP CARES to be part of that same transformation for others who are struggling. Your gift makes it possible to continue helping US Veterans like Kyle, who have given so much and deserve chance at fresh start. Together, we can give them the gift of hope, dignity, and stability. We can end their homelessness once and for all and help them build thriving lives.

“Their unwavering support was not Just about providing immediate relief; it was about restoring dignity and hope for my family.”

With your heartfelt financial support, SVdP CARES can make a difference in the lives of those who need it the most this season. Your donation will bring joy and light to families in need.

Warmest wishes and blessings this Christmas,

Michael J. Raposa, CEO
St. Vincent de Paul CARES

P.S. Kyle is not the first US Veteran helped by SVdP CARES, nor will he be the last. But people in many walks of life need a hand up right now especially during Christmas time. Will you send a gift for our neighbors in need?

P.S.S. Will you consider making that a monthly gift to help even more? Thank you!

This Holiday Season, Give a Gift of Togetherness

Many more people like Kyle and his children are ready and hopeful for another chance. Will you give them that chance?
