I am the CEO of St. Vincent de Paul CARES (“SVdP CARES”), and I would like to update you on the merger with the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition (“CCHC”), which became effective August 1, 2024.
As you know CCHC has been an integral part of ending homelessness in Charlotte County since 1989. It was an honor to be invited to carry on the longstanding tradition of services to Charlotte County’s most vulnerable citizens under the name “Charlotte CARE Center.” We feel privileged to be able to honor the legacy of the CCHC, and those who contributed and worked to build it into a beacon of light for the last 35 years.
I promise you that the Charlotte CARE Center will continue the rich tradition of loving and serving those who are living in poverty, experiencing hunger, and facing the crisis of homelessness. I hope to converge the loving resources of SVdP CARES and the local St. Vincent de Paul community to bring about permanent solutions to poverty, hunger, and homelessness.
I hope you will choose to stay connected to this mission and be a part of the Charlotte CARE Center and SVdP CARES family as we continue this important mission. I can assure you that your support will remain dedicated to supporting people in need in Charlotte County through the Charlotte CARE Center.
I invite you to visit www.SVdP.CARE to learn more about the work of SVdP CARES throughout its 19-county service area.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Merrell Dickey, Chief of Development, at merrell@svdp.care or (727) 201-9875.
Sincerely,
Michael J. Raposa, CEO
